How much does Intercom cost?
Intercom charges for two things: seats for your team, and Fin, its AI agent, at $0.99 per outcome. Seats cost $29, $85 or $132 a month on annual billing, or $39, $99 and $139 monthly. New customers get the Essential plan for $19 a month on annual billing. These figures are from Intercom’s pricing page on 29 October 2026.
| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | $29 ($19 for new customers) | $39 ($29 for new customers) | Fin, Messenger, shared inbox and ticketing, public help center, prebuilt reports |
| Advanced | $85 | $99 | Adds multiple inboxes, workflows, round robin, a private and multilingual help center, 20 free Lite seats |
| Expert | $132 | $139 | Adds SSO, HIPAA support, SLAs, multibrand Messenger and help center, 50 free Lite seats |
Only full seats can reply to customers. Lite seats are free on Advanced and Expert and give limited access for teammates who only collaborate internally.
How Fin’s $0.99 per outcome works
Intercom counts an outcome, and charges once per conversation, when one of three things happens:
- the customer confirms their issue is resolved,
- the customer doesn’t ask for more help after Fin responds, or
- Fin completes a workflow, called a Procedure, including handoffs.
The second rule matters most. A customer who reads Fin’s answer and leaves without replying counts as an outcome, whether or not the answer solved their problem. When a teammate takes over from Fin under Human in the Loop, that conversation is not billed.
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Fin AI Agent | $0.99 per outcome, on every plan |
| Fin on another help desk | $0.99 per outcome, no seats, monthly minimum (for example 50 outcomes) |
| Copilot (AI assistant for agents) | $29 per agent a month; 10 Copilot conversations per agent a month free |
| Pro (AI quality and performance tools, Operator) | From $100 a month |
| Proactive Support Plus | $99 a month |
What 3, 10 and 25 agents pay
The table assumes the Essential plan on annual billing and 300 Fin outcomes a month, about ten a day. The last column uses the new-customer price.
| Team | Seats at $29 | Fin outcomes | Total | Total at $19 a seat |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 agents | $87 | $297 | $384 | $354 |
| 10 agents | $290 | $297 | $587 | $487 |
| 25 agents | $725 | $297 | $1,022 | $772 |
For a small team, Fin is the larger part of the bill. At three agents, 300 outcomes cost more than three times the seats. Copilot for every agent adds $29 each.
| Team size (agents) | Intercom Essential monthly cost | Supahelp monthly cost |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $29 | $64 |
| 3 | $87 | $64 |
| 10 | $290 | $64 |
| 25 | $725 | $64 |
Discounts to ask about
- New-customer pricing. Essential is 35% off on annual billing and 25% off monthly for new customers. The pricing page does not say how long the discount lasts, so ask before you budget around it.
- Early-stage startups. Intercom advertises 93% off for eligible startups.
- Fin on its own. If you already have a help desk, Fin can run on it at $0.99 per outcome with no Intercom seats, subject to a monthly minimum.
Is Intercom worth it?
- Intercom is worth it if most support happens in chat inside your product, and an AI agent that resolves conversations on its own is worth $0.99 each to you.
- Look elsewhere if you don’t need live chat, or you want a price that stays the same as AI use grows.
